I invite you to join the Friends of Mesa Verde. 'Friends of Mesa Verde' derives from my book The Wetherills, Friends of Mesa Verde. Friends refers to both Quaker belief systems and those practiced by the Benjamin Kite Wetherill family in their collection and caretaking of artifacts found in the Four Corners.
Code of Honor for Friends of Mesa Verde is simply:
in the "Outdoor Museum", LILYFI (Leave It Like You Find It).
As a voluntary member you become a special friend to the rich and rapidly depleting historical heritage of the Four Corners. Your involvement will aid research and help slow damage and removal of those rare historical glimpses into the past.
With your permission we will sign you up with the purchase of books, donation to one of our research and documentation efforts, or adding to your travel agenda interpretation of the southwest. Click on the page for research, donation, special tours, or book purchase, or email me for more information.
Your purchases and gift donations or bequests to Jefferson County Open School and/or the Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management's Anasazi Heritage Center will help - with my partners' support - continue my research efforts.
As a Friend of Mesa Verde you will receive update notices on current research, writings and programs.
If you do not wish to purchase anything or make a donation at this time, you can still become a Friend of Mesa Verde and be added to my mailing list (for infrequent - but useful - advance notice of rare and special books, and updates on my current research and writings), by clicking the button below. I do NOT distribute my mailing list.
